On 17-18 May 2018, Cochrane Africa, led by researchers from Cochrane South Africa, conducted a two-day awareness raising workshop in Harare, Zimbabwe. The workshop focused on evidence-based healthcare, the Cochrane Library, the structure of Cochrane reviews and how to interpret forest plots. Participants were introduced to the Cochrane Africa Network. The thirteen participants that attended the workshop hosted by ZEIPNet included academia from medical schools, researchers, policymakers and programme managers from ZeipNET, the Ministry of Health & Child Care, Biotechnological Research & Training Institute, University of Zimbabwe Clinical Research Centre, Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe, USAID Zimbabwe Malaria Programme, UZ College of Health Sciences. Thirty-seven persons participated in the workshop.
The workshop was generally well received. Participant feedback was positive as they felt that the programme met its stated objectives and integrated applied examples illustrated real-world context.
