Call for Bursary Submissions

Cochrane South Africa is pleased to announce the call for bursaries to support attendance at the African Cochrane Indaba 2019.

 
Applications should be submitted to aci.cochrane@mrc.ac.za by no later than 4 February 2019. 
 
All applications submitted will be reviewed by the Stipend Review Committee. Delegates will be notified regarding acceptance or rejection of abstracts by 8 February 2019.

South African Medical Research Council Bursaries


Bursaries are offered by the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC). The SAMRC has a mandate to improve the health of the country’s population, through research, development and technology transfer, so that people can enjoy a better quality of life. The scope of the organisation’s research projects includes tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular and non-communicable diseases, gender and health, and alcohol and other drug abuse. TDR Bursaries


Bursaries are offered by TDR,  the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases. TDR is a global programme of scientific collaboration established in 1975. Its focus is to improve the health and well-being of people burdened by infectious diseases of poverty through research and innovation. TDR is hosted at the World Health Organization (WHO), and is sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and WHO. For the TDR Bursary form click here


Who is eligible?
Researchers, practitioners and decision-makers and students working in health. Applicants must be available for both days of the conference. Preference will be for those who have submitted abstracts and are currently working in evidence-informed practices and policymaking. South African applicants may receive preference for SAMRC bursaries.

What is covered?
Registration, up to three nights’ accommodation, ground transport in Cape Town. Access to all social events, conference bag and materials.
