Call for Bursary submissions
Cochrane Nigeria is pleased to announce the call for bursaries for registrations to attend the Cochrane Africa Indaba from 13-15 July 2021.

The deadline for submission of bursary applications is 9 June 2021. To complete the application form click HERE
All applications submitted will be reviewed by the Bursary Committee. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 18 June 2021.
Who is eligible?
Researchers, practitioners, decision-makers, students, consumers working in health and journalists. Applicants must be available for the duration of the conference. Preference will given to those who have submitted abstracts and are resident in sub Saharan Africa. South African applicants may receive preference for SAMRC bursaries.

The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) is sponsoring 30 bursaries to attend the conference. The SAMRC has a mandate to improve the health of the country’s population, through research, development and technology transfer, so that people can enjoy a better quality of life. The scope of the organisation’s research projects includes tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular and non-communicable diseases, gender and health, and alcohol and other drug abuse. The Calabar Institute of Tropical Diseases Research and Prevention, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital is sponsoring 25 bursaries:
- 10 bursaries for Nigerian-based Cochrane consumers and media practitioners (journalists) and
- 15 bursaries for undergraduate and graduate students of Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in sub Saharan Africa) with abstracts submissions accepted for presentation at the Indaba.
